In Ammonite Nicola Griffith describes human women as aliens in a new world. However there is a virus that is killing off a percentage of the women and all of the men who try to inhabit there. I found the virus to be most intriguing. The idea that these women can meditate back and view their whole history is shocking, and that it enables them to basically be able to control their bodies in amazing ways including inducing pregnancy. It’s a very intriguing idea.
